Not everything we make starts on a shelf.
Some furniture pieces are too specific to be kept ready-made — a particular piece of wood, a particular size, a particular design, or a particular space. For such projects, OurArtisans works with you from the beginning — from sourcing the timber to delivering the finished piece to your doorstep.
Many of our furniture projects are made to order rather than selected from ready stock. We coordinate the different stages of the journey — understanding your requirement, sourcing suitable timber, preparing the wood, working with skilled artisans, incorporating agreed customisations, and carefully arranging delivery.

How We Make It
We begin by understanding what you need — the type of furniture, dimensions, preferred wood, design, finish and customisations.
If you already have a design or reference image, you can share it with us. We can also work with you to arrive at a practical design.
Depending on the project, we source suitable timber through legitimate and documented channels — which may include government timber auctions or depot sales, authorised sources, or established timber suppliers.
The choice depends on the wood, quantity and requirements of the project.
Once sourced, the timber is transported to Mysuru, where the subsequent stages of the project are coordinated.
The timber is taken to an appropriate sawmill or processing facility and cut to the sizes and sections required for the project.
We work with skilled artisans suited to the requirements of each project.
Depending on the furniture, this may involve carpentry, joinery, carving, turning, inlay work, finishing or other specialised craftsmanship.
This is where prepared timber begins to become the piece you imagined.
Important design and customisation decisions are discussed with you before proceeding.
Where appropriate, we keep you updated through messages, photographs and sometimes videos as the work progresses.
Once the furniture is complete, we inspect the piece for finish and workmanship and coordinate its transportation carefully.
We remain actively involved in the delivery process to help ensure that the furniture reaches you safely.
A custom piece shouldn't be a mystery until the day it arrives.
Where appropriate, we'll keep you updated during the process through messages, photographs and sometimes videos. If there are important design or customisation decisions along the way, we'll discuss them with you before proceeding.
Getting Started
Every furniture project starts with a conversation.
01
Share your idea, dimensions, reference images, preferred wood or simply describe what you need.
02
We discuss the design, wood, dimensions, customisations, finishing and practical considerations.
03
We assess the timber, craftsmanship and other requirements and provide an estimated project cost and timeline.
04
Once the design, scope, cost and timeline are agreed, we proceed with the project.
05
We begin sourcing, preparing and crafting your furniture while keeping you updated along the way.
Many of our furniture pieces begin only after an order is placed. The time required can vary depending on the design, availability of suitable timber, timber preparation, craftsmanship, finishing and delivery.
We'll discuss the estimated timeline with you before the project begins and keep you informed as the work progresses.
Custom furniture can vary considerably from one project to another.
The final cost can depend on factors such as:
That's why many of our furniture projects are quoted individually rather than offered at a single fixed price.
Have a requirement in mind? Talk to us and we'll work it out with you.
Whether you already have a detailed design or just an idea in mind, tell us what you're looking for. We'll help you understand what it takes to turn it into a finished piece.
