Effective 27 August 2026 — covers ourartisans.in, m.ourartisans.in, and the OurArtisans mobile app
OurArtisans.in is a brand and online store operated by Shivakumar Parashuramaiah, trading as Sri Nandini Fine Arts (a proprietorship registered under GSTIN 29AERPP9362B1ZY), with its registered place of business at 1561, 5th Cross Soppinakeri, Mandi Mohalla, Mysuru (Mysore), Karnataka 570021, India. OurArtisans is not itself a separately incorporated company — "we," "us," and "our" in this policy refer to Sri Nandini Fine Arts and its proprietor.
This policy explains what personal data we collect through our website, mobile site, and mobile app (together, the "Services"), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have — including how to access, correct, or delete it.
When you create a customer account, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and a password (stored as a one-way cryptographic hash — we never store or can see your actual password). If you save one or more delivery addresses to your account, each saved address includes a name, phone number, and postal address.
When you place an order, we collect the name, phone number, email address, and delivery address used for that order, and — only if you tell us to ship to someone other than yourself (a gift, for example) — a separate delivery contact phone number for the recipient. We also record what you ordered, the price, applicable GST, your chosen payment method, and the order's status.
We use two payment processors, Razorpay and Cashfree — only one is active at a time. We never see or store your card number, UPI ID, or net-banking credentials; those are entered directly with the payment processor. We do store the transaction ID, amount, and status they return to us, so we can confirm your payment and issue refunds. To set up a payment session, your name, phone number, and email are shared with whichever processor is active, so it can process the transaction and (for Cash on Delivery orders) so we can apply our standard anti-fraud checks.
If you leave a product review, we collect your name, phone number, email, star rating, and review text — to confirm you're a genuine buyer of that product. Only your name and review text are shown publicly; your phone and email are never displayed.
If you're logged in, your wishlist and cart contents are saved to your account. If you ask to be notified when an out-of-stock product is back, we keep your request until we email you (a one-time alert) or you unsubscribe.
If you contact us — through the contact form, email, or otherwise — we keep your name, email, phone number (if given), and the message itself, so we can respond and keep a record of the conversation.
If we've generated a one-off discount code for you specifically, it's tied to your customer account so only you can redeem it.
If you're an artisan or vendor supplying products through our platform, we collect your business name, contact email and phone number, and portal login credentials. We do not collect or store bank account or UPI details for vendor payouts — those are settled directly, outside this platform.
We don't request your device's location, access your camera or photo library, read your contacts, or collect a device or advertising ID. The mobile app requests no special permissions beyond an internet connection (and, on Android, access to a folder you pick yourself if you choose to save a downloaded invoice). We don't ask customers to upload photos anywhere on the Services.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
We share personal data only with the service providers below, each acting on our behalf to run the Services — never for their own independent marketing.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of OurArtisans, our customers, or others.
Our website uses Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, which place cookies in your browser to help us understand site traffic and measure advertising performance. The OurArtisans mobile app does not include either of these — it has no tracking code of its own.
Separately, whenever an order is completed — on the website, the mobile site, or the app — we send a purchase event to Google Analytics and Meta so we can measure whether our advertising led to a sale. Your email address and phone number are converted into a one-way cryptographic hash before being sent for this purpose; we never send your name, address, or plain-text contact details to Google or Meta.
We also keep our own internal, first-party record of site visits and key actions (like adding an item to your cart), identified only by a random session number that isn't tied to your name or account.
Our primary database is hosted in India (AWS's Mumbai region). The application that serves our website and app runs on cloud infrastructure located in the United States. Some of the service providers listed above (including Google, Meta, OpenAI, Razorpay, and Cashfree) may process data on servers located outside India as part of providing their services to us.
Passwords are never stored in plain text — only as a one-way cryptographic hash. Login sessions are similarly stored as hashed tokens. All traffic to our Services is encrypted (HTTPS). We never see or store your full card, UPI, or net-banking details — those are handled entirely by our payment processors. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security.
We keep your account and order information for as long as your account is active, and afterward for as long as needed for legitimate business, accounting, and tax purposes — Indian tax law requires us to retain sale and GST records for a number of years. If you delete your account (see below), your directly identifying details are removed or anonymized, but the underlying order and tax records are retained in anonymized form for that legally required period.
Our Services are intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We don't currently verify age at sign-up, so if you believe a child has created an account or provided us personal information, please contact us and we'll address it.
When you first visit our website, we ask whether you consent to cookies from Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, as described above. These cookies are not set until you click Accept — if you click Reject, they're never loaded, and any of these cookies already present are cleared. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer.
Separately, we use a small amount of essential local browser storage — not a tracking cookie — to remember things like your theme preference and shopping cart, which is necessary for the site to function and isn't covered by the cookie banner.
We may update this policy from time to time as our Services change. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
